2012 Strategic Planning Survey Results

Thank you to all employees who took the time to participate in the 2012 Strategic Planning Staff Survey. This information provides valuable feedback to the Departmentís statewide leadership team.

The results show that we have strong support and dedication to providing quality care and treatment to the patients we serve. We also found that staff overwhelmingly support our new Vision, Mission, Values and Goals which are now official, thanks to your feedback. Most importantly, there were clear areas of staff concern in the survey results in the areas of Safety, Employee Morale and Communication. These areas and others will be priorities to address through developing key action plans as our Department moves forward.

In the next few weeks, facilitated discussions will be held at all DSH facilities with our Strategic Planning Consultants and our Hospital Strategic Planning Team. These facilitated discussions will be kicked off by our Chief Deputy Director and each Facility Executive Director, but will be facilitated by the Strategic Planning Consultants. These facilitated discussions will be held to:

  • Give staff the opportunity to review the survey results, and hear more detail about the results from their own facility, through a briefing provided by the Strategic Planning Consultants.
  • Provide input and additional information. These facilitated discussions will be working sessions where participants will provide direct feedback, information and ideas to the Strategic Planning Consultants.
  • The facilitated discussions will be a total of 3 hours. Volunteer participants will be excused from work and expected to participate in the full session.
  • Staff representing all shifts and all disciplines are strongly encouraged to participate to ensure that all viewpoints can be considered.
