DSH Water Conservation Accomplishments - Individual Hospital Initiatives

DSH Atascadero

• Uses well water supply which decreases the strain on local city water systems
• Restorative project in place to prevent leaks in water storage tanks

DSH Coalinga

• Hydronic Loop Replacement is estimated to save between 39-150 million gallons per year
• Installed synthetic grass in place of living grass during the new Activity Courtyard construction
• Several hundred plumbing fixtures throughout the facility have been converted to low flow

DSH Metropolitan

• Captures and reuses over 45 million gallons per annum
• This water is used for grounds maintenance and outdoor use

DSH Napa

• Is currently connected to one of the five available meters which provide approximately 4,000 gallons of recycled water each year for outdoor purposes.
• The hospital is currently conducting a feasibility study in the hopes of increasing the use of recycled water from the City of Napa
• New, modernized kitchen outbuilding recently completed
• New kitchen building and landscaping has a LEED rating of: SILVER

DSH Patton
